T195 Offering Citizenship in Society for T303 and other troops

Posted on Feb 17 2026 - 11:10am
I am hosting CIS, Citizenship in the Society, Merit Badge. This Eagle required MB is unlike all other and is my favorite of the 20+ I teach. It is mandatory to be in a group (4+) setting and all scouts need to be within 2 years of age. With minimum prep work (1 hour or less), this MB can be completed in one 2-3 hr session.

This session is only for scouts 12-14 years old on March 15th.
Please confirm if your scout will attend. I will then need to be connected as their MBC in scout book to sign the electronic blue card and enter the requirements the same day. Once confirmed, I’ll send the pre work requirements via email.

I will also have a male leader present, two deep is covered. This leader was a scout in another country. If your child needs that requirement (Citizenship in the World 7c; International Spirit Reward) that can be arranged as well.

My address:
2530 Bluewater Dr., Wauconda, IL 60084
My cell:

Warmest,

Volunteer Opportunities around the Grayslake area

Posted on Jun 4 2025 - 9:00am

Many of the rank advancements require service hours, as do some of the merit badges. While we strive to provide service opportunities as a Troop, there may be times when you'll want to volunteer on your own (or with your family).  The list below is not meant to be comprehensive. Use it as a jumping off point to look for other opportunities in areas that interest you!  Like to be outside? Look at the township garden, forest preserves, or park districts. Interested in pets? While many local rescues require volunteers to be older, it’s worth digging around to see if there are opportunities for scouts. Check your religious institution if you attend one regularly, there may be options there - in summer, many churches ask middle school students to be junior counselors for their VBS programs.

Volunteer at Lord of Glory

Posted on Jun 2 2025 - 9:06am

As you may have noticed yesterday, Lord of Glory is hosting a rummage sale this weekend. It looks like there are still volunteer spots open for this week, to  help with set up and sale times as follows:
